The 'U' shaped sausage.

For those who don't know what I'm waffling on about, well it's a sausage that's shaped into the letter 'U". They are made by a company that I won't name for fear of embarrassing them - but they begin with the letter 'M'.
Now these pieces of food are shrunk wrapped into tough plastic. The only way to open them is by the use of a pair of stout sissors. Once you have cut away and removed the plastic this sausage is free and is difficult to hold as it's covered with a film of grease.
Upon tasting it I found them to be border-line disgusting, but with lashings of onion pickle they are edible - just. At a tickle under two quid I thought that they were more than a tad on the expensive side.
There are two known varieties, 'original' and 'garlic', both of which I have recently consumed and have to report that, after the initial grease shock, they are not too bad. As the saying goes: "I've tasted worse!".
