Very interesting, but that, apparently English, woman narrating it was mispronouncing the word "nuclear" as "nucular", as is usually done only by the most ignorant of Americans.

Since it was Gina McKee, it's how Geordies pronounce the word.

It was well off course in an area where the US had been employing spy planes. It should never have been shot down, though. Russian paranoia was through the roof at that stage.

I believe I also commented that the programme was not just interesting, but indeed "very interesting".
Geordies almost invariably pronounce "nuclear" as "nuclear", by the way.
In the gravy/pasta thread, I did not misinterpret your post at all. You are misinterpreting my reply to it.
