Storms!!

We had very bad, and sometimes violent, storms last night! So heavy were they that it knocked out our works security alarm system. This meant we were unable to gain access when we arrived in the morning because we'd been locked out by the system. The boss contacted the security alarm company and they told him they couldn't sort the problem until tomorrow. This means we got the day off - hooray!

Think yourself lucky you missed them, Steve. Pretty rough---thought my windows were going to be blown out.

Nowhere near as bad as the tornadoes that hit parts of the US, though.

Here in Norfolk we seem to have got away unscathed, only the odd gust to speak of, unlike poor old Scotland.

Nice little site for weather stats and webcam for the Isle of Lewis, still very heavy seas.

On my way to work this morning at 7am I saw plenty of glass, wood, bushes and even small trees strewn across the roads - also the traffic lights weren't functioning.

Don't get all upset or het up, Trumpton, but would it be possible just to call Steve by his name? Whatever your intentions with this "Sir" lark, it sounds like you're taking the piss. As Ace pointed out previously, we're rather fond of Mr 56. I'm sure you don't mean any harm or disrespect---it just doesn't sound that way.

Cheers, mate.

I use the word 'Sir' or 'Guv'nor' when conversing with Steve56 out of respect and affection. If Steve wishes me to stop using them I will terminate their use immediately. Steve did previously indicate to me that he didn't mind me using these words. If his attitude has subsequently changed I will desist with their usage.

A bit windy, but all ok in Sheffield.

After the storms and floods of last year, we can do without any more, thank you very much.
