100K - Corruption At The Top?

After the debacle of Harriet 'snotty cow' Harman accepting moody donations from oddball property developers, we learn today that Peter Hain, the Swiss Tony of British politics, and his progressive cronies have mislaid 100K's worth of union donations! It beggars belief that no one knows where this dough is. You don't lose 100K. So, is this yet another case of Progressives, progressively lining their own pockets? Are these elitists laughing up their well pressed sleeves at Joe Average, union member?

He didn't mislay it, Dibbs- he forgot to declare it to the Electoral Commissioners.
Unacceptable indeed- but remember that this Government invented the Commissioners! It was a real 'wild west' under the Tories and would be again.

This is the second occasion that Hain has had to own up to non declaration of donations to his deputy dawg election campaign, the first was for 10k iirc.
Amuses me when he/they say " I apologise to the House for this oversight" as if this makes it OK & wipes the slate clean. It beggars belief that this dicredited government makes rules on standards in public life which they clearly think do not apply to them.
Wonder if HMC&R would be as understanding if they found out that I had forgotten to declare a 'donation' of 100k.

Hain may well now get in trouble with the Commons- who can suspend him from the House for up to 2 weeks; and which would lead to his dismissal or resignation from the Cabinet.
So I think what opprobrium Dibbs can throw at him is water of a duck's back.
