Hello Peeps.I'm going to Brum tomorrow for the Birmingham v Chelsea match and need to know what's the best and safest boozers to go to before the game.i've never been to St Andrews, and the last thing i want is grief off a Zulu as they really hate us Chelsea fans.
I've been to Villa, but that's on the other side of Birmingham and Villa fans are pussies anyway.
Any feedback would be most appreciated !happy!

I'm a Baggies fan- so all I will say is write your will before you go if you plan to meet the Zulus.
Pubs? Oddly enough- I don't know any pubs near St.Andrews [can't think why] and the city centre pubs are usually patrolled by Knacker if a big match is on, and some might be closed if there is the faintest smell of trouble.
The Wellington on Bennetts Hill is the best pub in Brum- but nowhere near St.Andrews; and do not wear football colours in there.

hi mike,
Firstly you wont have much luck as most of the city centre pubs have a footie shirt ban on them, and please please don't go to any boozer along the Coventry road as they are notorious for zulu hangouts !
I assume you will get the train into brum which means you will be straight into the town centre which i presume will have bouncers on the door etc etc .
You could try the boozers around the back of the cathederal etc but this is quite far away from the blues ground !
good luck !

What a strange reply Lizard.
It's called being a 'supporter'
I'll more than likely get the Train to New Street and stick to the pubs in the City centre, where they'll be alot of O.B about.

you might want to head away from city centre to Aston uni, there a decent pub called the sacks of potatoes there and its not a million miles from the ground

There'll always be something that doesn't interest folk here, Emily, but as Liz says, it's an open forum.
Feel free to talk about shopping or fabric conditioner if you wish (puts on hard hat and dives into nearby trench)
