DNA testing

I'm thinking about getting a DNA ancestry check done to see how many heroes/villains,Royalty (you never know) etc could lurk in my family. Curiosity really.
Anybody tried it or have any thoughts ?
My main concern is will my dna be kept for any other purpose ?

I'd never do it, just because my father was a boring old git and i don't want that going public.....oh fuck!

At the very least I'd get a nice A3 size poster to stick on the wall (or not)

Nah !!
You get a poster of all your past relatives.
You could always Tippex out the ones you don't like or even add a few you might.
I could impress the ladies if Casanova turned out to be one of my ancient uncles. !!!!!! I need all the help I can get
