Course, if I had a daughter, I wouldn't leave her and her younger twins on their own, go off for a feed and booze up with my equally ignorant chums, then claim, "Everybody does it" when she went missing.

I should feel sorry for this couple, and there's a part of me that is quite disgusted that I don't. Feel sorry for Madeleine and her wee sister and brother. But if there is such a thing as karma, Gerry and Kate will discover it in their next lives.

Still, in the meantime, they have their paid for public spokesman pushing their paid for private investigators' latest theories to the greedy press for the sake of ghouls who wish to rake over this story again and again. (Given my response, this obviously must include me)

Maybe I'm deserving that, Diplo. I left it weeks before mounting the high horse when some others were playing the "if they were from a council estate they'd be crucified by the press" argument from the off.

It took three months before Mrs M admitted in public that they did wrong leaving those kiddies alone. There was a creche facility, and a service where someone from the resort would look after the kids in their own apartment (no need to wake them and disturb them), but that would have cost them money.

If I'm out of line here, I will apologise---and am prepared to write to the family to apologise. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, and takes out all the greys leaving only black and white. But you do not leave your kids alone in a room while you go out to enjoy yourself. Dodgy predators apart, suppose there'd been a fire, an electrical fault, one of the kids got up and went looking for mum and dad?

Off to bed---I've caused enough damage.

I just think its a cold day in hell everyday that girl is missing not just for the parents but the whole family....Friends too.

all i was putting over was it's so easy to demonise these people., which has been done on this forum and in sections of the media

it's so easy to say, I would never leave my kids alone, in reality everyone has. I know when I was a kid I played in the fields all day with no parents around, wot is so different from this ...... none in my book

but everyone will have their say, that's the way it is, until it happens to them (which is more rare than a really rare thing)
