No Pay Rise.

The boss called us into his office this morning and told us all that we weren't getting a pay rise this year, and the number of hours we work each week will be cut back - again. I'm already only working a 32.5 hour week and from 18 February it'll be just 30 hours per week.
I've managed to fully discover what Les does. "She" is a small business consultant who has been brought in by the boss to ascertain savings our company can make. Apparently it's "her" idea to put the brakes on our pay rise and to reduce our working hours.
My boss has nothing but praise and admiration for Les. He says that "she" has done an excellent job. I was under the impression that my boss brought Les in because he thought our factory/office was under attack by hordes of wild alligators and it was Les's job to wrestle with them until "she" had strangulated them all!

Do you not think the amount of time you spent eyeing Les up gave her the impression that you didn't have enough work to fill the time you spend there? Or maybe she is a secret member of this forum and recognised herself in your nasty descriptions of her and is taking her revenge.

Management will always look for reasons for 'cut backs',and sadly it's employees wages that will always draw the short straw, thus what sparks conflict between employee and employer.Evenmoreso if one is'nt in a trade union.
It's the way of the world today.Such little reward for putting in hard work. while the idle cunts of this world get everything on a plate.
It's wrong i tell ya.Wrong !furious!

Crazy isn't it?
When I was working as a metallurgist the company was going through a rough patch and told the machine operators that there'd be redundancies.
The machine operators in the firm were only on about ?12 grand a year and they brought in a 'Les' guy, on ?45 grand a year to sort it all out. He got rid of 10 workers within 6 weeks which saved the company ?120,000 for the year, but they'd signed 'Les' on a 2 year contract, paying him ?90,000.
So they only saved ?30,000 over 3 years. They could have kept 7 men in work for another 2 years if they'd not hired 'Les' and still saved more than ?30,000.
I felt sorry for the blokes and guilty that they'd not touched our department.

The more I work, the more apparent it is that management couldn't manage to find their own arseholes with both hands and a torch. They haven't got a clue. And anyone who needs to bring an expert in to point out places where economies can be made, without thinking about the consequences of the "economies," is a complete twat.
When cutbacks are made, it's noticeable how few members of management are set up to be shown the door---even when the redundancies enforced mean there are fewer people to manage.
By the way, when did "personnel" become "human resources"----I'd rather be thought of as a person than a resource. I recall some wankish US business seminar where someone said, "The most important part of the company isn't the software or the hardware, it's the liveware." Insulting? Fuck yeah.

I don't know how much Les is being paid, but "her" "skills" are only going to be endured, by us, for a 13 week contract.
Strangely enough I'm not shocked by this news as I had a suspicion that something like this would happen soon.

You haven't met my boss Mr. Twat have you?
We're only a small company anyway employing just 7 staff and the boss goes that far to bring in a "consultant" to inform him of the exact situation of HIS company proves what a complete and utter moron he really is.

Now, what came first, Trumpy?
a) Les was such an ugly child that she was constantly picked on at school, and ridiculed as an adult. Her revenge was to get a job cutting wages and organising redundancies.
b) Les was average looking, in an average world. She got a job making workers either redundant, or cutting wages. She's been punched everytime she's made someone redundant and this is why she's ugly.

Tis true. They look after themselves, naturally.
The old company I worked for did end up having too many chiefs and not enough indians. I resigned 12 months later, purely on the fact that the management were dumb. How can you take instructions from somebody who's a bit daft? I have a problem with it.
