Who cares?.Most awards are a load of patronising crap.A load of cunts backslapping each other, when they really cant stand one another.

No wonder why the sensible one's don't even bother turning up.

Agreed. They'll say it's in appreciation of their work, but it's just ego stroking.

I remember when Paul Weller was being put forward for a knighthood, which he would fully of deserved.Weller being a socialist told them to fuck right off and no way will he be turning up at Buck Palace anytime soon.

Alex Ferguson gleefully accepted his knighthood, even though he's 'supposedly' a socialist and 'anti-royal'

It really is all about ego's and making one's self feel important.

Yet actors won't pass any picket lines and support the writers, yet HERE on THIS night, they have an awards ceremony??

In fairness though the writers get hardly fuck all royalties, yet the film is all their ideas. Thus why they're having this strike.

I don't mean to sound millitant but would you dare cross a picket line?pj wrote:

Well I disagree with Wellar there. The monarchy have to power anymore and it's basically just tradition. I'm neither anti, nor pro royal but if someone wants to homour you with something that's a long-standing tradition of your country then it would be impolite to refuse. No one suffers because he accepts an award.

He probably did it to get column inches.

I wouldn't cross one as I write myself, but I'm confused as to why the oscars are threatened, but the Actor's Guild award goes ahead?

...Because the actors guild has very little to do with writers perhaps? I mean they are all showing out to have a good time, catch up with colleagues, wine, dine and sixty nine....Who cares about a bunch of writers when you've got your millions in the bank already.

Thats like porn stars caring about producers politics when they are just there to f...er perform.

Because of the support that SAG has shown to the writers guild an agreement was made so these awards went ahead.
