We have'nt had a good 'un go for a good few weeks, so hats off to celebrate the life of Roy Schieder, immortalised in Jaws, French Connection and Marathon Man
RIP Roy, at least the shark didn't get ya!

That's a shame. Damned good actor---probably best in All That Jazz.

On the news it said he'd been battling cancer for 2 years yet worked all the way through judging by his wiki page

Forgot about that show...very charismatic
Too consumed with Jaws...him opposite Richard dreyfuss was cinema Gold

75 doesnt seem that old. RIP Roy Scheider. Not only will he be remembered for his great work but also for Spielbergs effective TRZ (triple reverse zoom) on the deck chair on the beach in Jaws.
Oddly enough that was the first vision that came to mind at reading this sad news.

I'm sorry about this, I really liked him as an actor. Shame his name is mis-spelled on this posting though!

RIP Roy, didn't know he had Cancer and certainly did not think he was 75 (must be getting old myself!!).
I think his performance in "Jaws" will live with me for the rest of MY days. When you look back at it with the quite brilliant Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss & Director Steven Spielberg plus a Killer Shark that steals the show it really is pretty close to Cinema Heaven that will still be scaring the shit out of people for years to come.
