Puppets on TV.

I was recently having a chat with a number of youngsters - well youngsters to me, about 20/21, and I was telling them about the puppets we used to watch on TV back in our day. I regaled them stories about viewing iconic puppet shows such as Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Stingray and Joe 90.
Yes, you could see the strings I continued, and the puppets movements were jerky - but to us, people of our generation, it was cutting edge technology at it's finest.

"Some day I'll be a spaceman
The fastest man alive
And fly across the universe
In Fireball XL5 . . ."
Okay, we could see the strings, and no one moved properly, but that's why we have an imagination---to see past those little faults. The Martians in Quatermass And The Pit, for example, were a joke, but there were still some scary moments within the film and the dodgy effects didn't get in the way of an intelligent, thought-provoking central idea.

I've been trying to think of that puppet series Gerry Anderson did in the 80's? I think it was the last one he produced?
