The writer of New Tricks- Roy Mitchell- is a mad Baggies fan. So much so that he keeps slipping in references....

The main characters are: HALFORDs LANE STAND[ING].

He's named characters after all the 1968 Cup winning side over the years- Osborne, Talbut,Kaye, Hope, Brown etc- though not Astle as that would be too obvious. The BBC prevented him naming villains after Wolves players though....

Last week? A character called Alice SANDWELL- the borough that the Baggies are in.
