Looks like we will never get our head to head civ four battle aswell, I was looking forward to it as a Civ I and civ II veteren... oh well.... another day, they did warn him....

Well, and with the greatest of respect to Caradog- who made the good point last night that I had made my feelings well and truly clear about the not so dear departed WZR- can I just make one point.

'Zooter' was, as the Mods make quite clear in the last paragraph of their missive that you link to, fudgey, a bully and a thug who had a hearty contempt of people who dared either be right wing; or be left wing and not accept him as their leader. He ruined good threads and made people's good points be lost in the tirade- as people have said before on here, if they saw his name, they avoided the whole thread.

He is no loss at all. And its not a political point I make either- I couldn't be further politically from, say, Dibbs and Mike_CFC, but I respect them.

But Zooter didn't have respect. He had arrogance and he had a lack of responsibility to others. And in the end he had hubris- and it is that that brought him down. No loss at all.

And Jacques- come back soon mate, we miss you.

I've been around long enough to have seen almost everyone who was at the time a strong contributor/personality spit the dummy or leave

for me it wasn't his views but the fact he didn't practise wot he preached, I did agree with his strong views on the death penalty for example but when he berated people for not posting facts he fell down big time

for example when he posted that 'milk was known to be bad for you' I pulled him up on the science which led to a small attack on me, I gave up replying to his posts after that

I think he was a bloke with a not bad brain but had no idea how to put his thoughts accross (and if he were here he would say my points were shits cos of my spelling)

In the case of WZR I'm glad he's gone - there's a fine line between banter and bullying and I had resigned myself to the fact that nothing was going to be done about it and he had the run of the forum. It's almost as if he really belived he WAS this forum. He resorted to unnecessary abuse and name-calling on a number of occasions
