Poor precious wee bairns

Aw, diddums. Did the nasty man say bad things to you?
If someone is bullying you on this forum, there are a number of options open to you, the most obvious of which are to report the behaviour to the Mods or starve the bully of attention.
The late late Mr Zevon could be a real pain in the arse, no argument on that front. He was picky and pedantic and probably responsible for more threads growing to great, but mainly unread, length than anyone else. He also forced, through argument and debate, people to look at subjects beyond the shallowness of the newspaper headline approach.
He could be snide and vicious and cruel (I thought the "cut and paste Steve56" post was well out of order, though he claims it was made affectionately). But he also had more patience and decency than I do with many people---one guy in particular I thought was a troublemaking troll, he insisted was really quite a genuine person (since that same person has been very quick to join the dance on Wazza's grave, you can make your own minds up).
Whatever else, he provoked reactions. Threads in which he had no involvement, someone would launch an attack on him; there was an almost obsessive-compulsive need to drag him into everything by his opponents, as if they were seeking his approval.
More than anything, he brought life to a forum that at times looked like it was dying on its feet. A week from now, once the unseemly grave-dancing is done, let's see just how busy we are. Still, it'll mean the closet racists and BNP symapthisers can crawl our from under their stones once more.
* Apologies if any of the above is familiar. I did post aspects of it earlier, in response to a hypocritical piece of shite who thinks he's Jesus Christ, but it vanished when his post was rightly deleted.
