Arsenal v Birmingham

Ouch, nasty injury to Eduardo, BUT I think although it was an horrific injury, Taylor at Birmingham didn't look like he'd gone in to 'do him'. At least Wegner had the good grace to retract his statement calling for Taylor to be banned. Probably was reminded how some of his players started 'putting it about' against Man Utd in the FA Cup game
It was an unfortunate injury at the end of the day.
Gallas 'losing it' was worth watching.....I think the pressure is on those Gooners now, blew 2 points BIGTIME!!
Get well soon Eduardo..........a class player!

Eduardo's injury was nasty but no way was it intentional.Wenger has only retracked his words through his P.A,i want Wenger himself to come out and say that Taylor should not be banned for life and his comments were OTT.

I'm also disgusted at Sky for refusing to show replays of the tackle. When Steven Hunt nearly killed Petr Cech at Reading last year and Eboue's kick to John Terry's head in Cardiff last year,Sky could'nt stop showing replays of those incidents.

How is that fair?

Back on topic. Some people are encouroging Eduardo to take legal action over Taylor.
Oh pahlease, tackles like that happen week in week out.The last thing we want is tackles ending up in the courtroom. If that happens we migh as well pack up and go home.

Football's a contact sport afterall.Anything more than a 3 match ban for Taylor would be harsh.Very harsh.

I think as it was an instant red card, thats a 3 match ban and the end of it. If the FA start sticking their noses in it, Sullivan and Gold should have the balls to tell them to 'fuck off'
It looked a very nasty snap, akin to David Buusts legs snapping a decade or so ago.
I think as there was a lot of blood, thats the reason it wasn't shown over and over again.
I doubt he'll play top flight again, which is a shame as he really is a class act

Gallas is a great athlete and a capable footballer but his attitude and commitment to the team is questionable as witnessed yesterday and by how he manoeuvred his way out of Chelsea. I'm not a Chelsea fan but when (I think it was) Carvalho was injured last season the press questioned Mourinho's judgement in letting Gallas go, but it's not inconceivable that he went because of his attitude and questionable commitment to the team ethos. Chelsea now have a dilemma because Terry is fit and Alex has proved himself capable and Chelsea have moved-on, but on yesterday's evidence Chelsea are well rid of Gallas. It was interesting to listen to Hansen's take on it on MOTD.

Well said Jon.I'm glad we got shot of Gallas. He showed yesterday what a selfish cunt he really is.With a captain's attitude like Gallas's,Arsenal will defineley implode now, leaving Man U to take top spot very soon and Chelsea will chase Arsenal for runners up.

Hate to say it,but Man U look unstopable atm.

I'll still have money on Arsenal winning the title, all said and done.
I think that is their priority, hence their dismal display in the FA Cup exit.
They do play great football, as do Man Utd, but my beloved Blues play shite these days, sorry, but its true.....they certainly do NOT entertain the way they used too, and certainly not in the vein of Arsenal or Man Utd

Spot on Ace.We were poor against Olimpiacos on Tuesday. With the team we have we SHOULD be more entertaining.

Can't see any difference Toad (Grant) has made to the team since the S.O got sacked.

Right,i'm definetley off to Wembley now

I can't believe the tone of some of these posts.

"I doubt he's ever be the same again/will play again" etc

How then can a 3 game ban be right? Do all you Prem supporting fans hold such tribalistic views that you can dismiss a career-threatening injury with such dismissiveness.

As a supporter of a League 1 team what I do no is that if that happened in our league, the ban would be so much more severe. I agree that Sky are so faux-pious it's unreal. They stoke up all this rivalry with their OTT style and hyperbole, then shy away from incidents such as this.

But come on guys- this was a horror tackle, I don't care if it was intended or not..

i have to agree with Ace and Mike, the tackle was bad but i don't think intentional, there have been far worse this season.Eduardo was very unlucky with the severity of the injury but you shouldn't punish Taylor more just because it ended in a bad injury when the tackle occurred because Eduardo was too quick for Taylor and not through any premeditated intent.

I have seen less nasty injuries and the player is forced to retire.

The referee dealt with it there and then with a Red Card, this means by FA Rules, the matter has been dealt with

No it wouldn't. FA Rules in all leagues are the same. If the referee has dealt with it, that is the end of the matter. Harsh I know!

Not arguments there!

No, it was a tackle that Eduardo tried to skip and as a result, got clattered. This isn't to shift blame on a nippy player like Eduardo. It was a tackle that had devestating consequences
