Deleting BT Yahoo Messenger.

I want to delete my BT Yahoo Messenger (it's really annoying when I log into my BT homepage as it automatically loads up when I log in), but I'm unable to do this. I tried all the usual routes - right clicking on the icon on my screen, no that doesn't do it; deleting it from installed programs, no luck there either.
Any technical wizards out there who could point me in the right direction?

I had no choice as it was pre-installed on to my laptop when I purchased it.

When I'm using IE7 or BT Yahoo there are three bars. Although when I'm using Firefox as now there are four bars.

It's a nuissance, I have a new pc, running vista, and have bt broadband, the yahoo messenger thing loads up staight away, and as far as I know I don't have a yahoo account!. Vista is a big step backwards, mark my words, my knowledge of ms-dos and other windows systems is utterly useless now....
