Can someone explain why we have to pay twice the price the yanks do to purchase anything from I Tunes?

How do they justify with $2 to the ? that what the americans have for half price we pay double???

A typical purchase would be ?1.89 but its US equivalent is 99 cents which would make the same item 4 times the cost if the value of that is the equivalent to 50p

Itunes must taketake us for mugs?? Surely Trading Standards should look into something like this as unfair trading or something

I have seen on ebay people offering methods to set up an USA account.-

itunes guide setting up u.s account
The feedback on this one is showing some recent positive purchases.

I also have seen them where they offer an amount of credit and method to set up an american account. BRAND NEW SELLER so no feedback on this one be wary, I just included as an example.

Ebay itunes search result

I used to work for an American company whose products were priced at around the same price in pounds ie if it was sold in the US at $100 then over here it was ?100. The justification was the higher costs of selling to a smaller market... Blah de Blah.

Anyhow just mentioned the above for interest as I haven't used any of them myself.
Most of my songs I have downloaded from torrents..... which itunes do work with but most times it does not find the title and track info which means a lot of manual typing to enter the info.
