roman catholics ..again....

Post by mrmcfister »

The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill, now going through Parliament, allows the creation of human-animal hybrid embryos for medical research.
The embryos develop stem cells - the body's master cells - which can be used to grow any sort of human tissue. The tissue can then be used as a repair kit to tackle illnesses such Parkinson's Disease, Alzheimer's diabetes, multiple sclerosis or motor neurone disease.Delighted to see the RC church gettings its knickers in a twist over this great bit of science. These cardinals should spend more time protecting their flocks from the priests that want to put their cocks where they shouldn't and leave the real world to those with brains who refute their sanctimonious clap trap....pah!

How then will scientists discover new cures for diseases if they are blocked from using the 'biological realm'?

You say it's wrong, but in what way? 60% of your dna is the exact same as a banana. Everytime you eat food, or drink water, your dna can be altered. Everytime you get a virus theres a chance that virus chops up, takes away and inserts other dna it took from another host. Everytime you have a walk to the pub the radiation from the sun is directly altering your dna.

Like it or not, nature has been altering and hybridising the dna of all living cells since life began. Science is just picking up the baton to use it in a way that's useful.

"I think it's wrong to kill the unborn, very very wrong"

OK then. So maybe all those pregnant, empty headed, young chav birds can all go ahead and have their genetically similar sprogs, and then when they are born bring them round to you to look after and financially support if you're so cut up about it?
