Keith Wood of Ireland has been considered the best hooker of recent times by most commentators.

It's generally regarded that small in statue batsmen make the best hookers. For example, Sunil Gavaskar is very short, but he was an excellent hooker and puller. The Don was also short and he played the hook shot down. He never liked hitting the ball aerially.
