Didn't see the fight and heard it was close.

Scrappy fight, one big punch landed, from Hopkins that floored Joe. Joe outboxed Hopkins for a close split desicion, it WAS a close fight and I honestly felt Joe did enough to win it.....just, as Hopkins was flagging after round 10.
Now for Roy Jones Jr and retirement beckoning undefeated

Watched it in my local boozer,Was'nt a pretty fight.I had an inlking that Calzaghe would win on points.Hopkins was flagging and showing fatigue.A good, well deserved tactical win for Calzaghe.
Totally hungover after 2 days of solid drinking.Definetley staying in tonight !grin!

Typical Hopkins, holding, scrapping and pretending to be hurt from low blows...
Not pretty, but Joe deserved the win.
Hopkins thought he was robbed and may even ask for a rematch.
Most people had Hopkins win only 3 rounds, barring one of the bent judges, which was shameful!

Well Hopkins boast of "I will never be beaten by a white man" has certainly flown out of the window - wonder what would have happened had the tables been turned and Joe had stated "I will never be beaten by a black dude" ... probably have been some sort of sensational headlines and riots methinks.

Think back to September 1980 and Alan Minter v Marvin Hagler

Well I was only a young buck back then so don't remember too much about that one, but looks like Hagler got some racial abuse from the crowd for being racially abused himself by Minter ... strange but true.
