Now is the Time

The American porno industry is now in decline with a twenty per cent decline in profits. This is the result of twenty years of low budgets and the filming of scenes rather than of films that had a beginning a middle and an end, films that told a story that was credible and in which the characters were developed and not merely objectified in wall to wall hardcore recordings of live sex shows.
We had Debbie Does Dallas, Deep Throat, Baby Face and Getting Off filmed by professional filmmakers working from scripts.
Now all we have is good point of sale material and hardcore trailers showing the highlights but the films are mechanistic and boring despite beautiful girls and DP and no matter how beautiful the girls and the repetition of hardcore images the action becomes boring and the viewer hits the fast forward to find more hardcore scenes in order to find sexual excitement.
The directors no longer understand the psychology of sexuality and think that it depends on explicitness whereas the development of the characters is essential if one is to produce eroticism and sexual excitement in the viewer
Now is the time and opportunity for British filmmakers to produce erotic pornographic films that tell a story about believable characters because the public are tired of hardcore wall to wall and the recording of live sex shows and the objectification of women and they want erotic films that tell a story. Now is the time for the UK to regain its position as producers of the best erotic films in the world because that is what the public want, this is your great opportunity so grasp it now.

"The American porno industry is now in decline with a twenty per cent decline in profits."
I'm not surprised, Mike. To my eyes it's all a load of repulsive shite now. Those fuckers need a right good kick in 'the gonzos'.
"the films are mechanistic and boring"
And have been so for the past decade or more.
"The directors no longer understand the psychology of sexuality"
Mike, these new chortling DV directors never have understood the psychology of sexuality. The simply assume all their potential customers are similarly oafish and just on the lookout for some 'hot', 'fit', 'dirty', 'filthy', ?slut? being pulled, poked, mauled and generally abused in an ugly pseudo sex scene.
?Now is the time and opportunity for British filmmakers to produce erotic pornographic films that tell a story about believable characters because the public are tired of hardcore wall to wall?
Don?t hold your breath, Mike. As far as I can see the only characters you are likely to see from now on are those we are all to familer with ? the chortling oaf with the DV cam, and the 20 something chaver bird from the ?Skankfarm? estate.

You can argue that the decline in profits is down to quality of the product, but surely you have to factor in distribution and the free availability of porn. Perhaps it's comforting to think there is a single solution, but I would suspect the issues are more complex.

"come on it is porn not a national tv show, it is mostly watched by men who want to see the women cast as cock slurping sluts who take it up the arse,"
Sadly, I think you may be right. It seems contemporary porn is only watched by men who like to view women as dirty, filthy, cock slurping sluts who need a good pull, poke, slap and choke - which is one reason why it is in decline as a commercial entity.
But you seem to be laboring under the illusion that this is what all men want ? that this is all they are fantasising about. I would suggest this is far from the case. I would further suggest that the men who dig this contemporary shite are predominantly losers and social misfits who have problems relating to women. They may be afraid of women or unattractive to them - so they act out their macho abusive fantasies though the cocks of chortling oafs - while safely ensconced behind their commuter screen.
Call me a weirdo if you will, but I find the sweet girl in the office a zillion times more alluring and stimulating than the now ubiquitous scruffy, scrawny, foulmouthed, tattooed, crack hoe of contemporary porn. Neither do I harbor any desire to slap, choke, pull, poke or spit on girls. Happily, I don't think I'm alone in these sentiments.
If you want to treat women like you have suggested, and you think it is perfectly normal and cool, why don't you go out to a bar and pick up a nice lady (or even a dirty chav scrubber) and then drag her down an alley by the hair, subdue her by choking, then make her gag by ramming your cock down her throat? If that's a common and perfectly acceptable male desire there shouldn't be any problem, should there?

"I am not a rapist just because I like watching hard edged porn acted out by paid actors and actresses."
Alice, you might call it "hard edged porn". I call it abusive, oafish and skanky. Sadly, although your tastes are pretty far from mainstream, they are hardly unique, and this is what is driving porn ever further into the gutter. Because Joe Average is deserting the genre. There's nothing here for him - it's all foulmouthed chav scrubbers with tats and ugly, raw, spotty shaved beavers with razor rash. Where are the sweet girls with tits, waists and asses? Where are the girls that have taken the time to do their makeup and hair? Where are the girls who show a bit of imagination and feminine allure in their choice of dress and lingerie? No, there's nothing here for Joe Average, so he's leaving the genre to those who believe porn is all about skanky scrubbers being abused. Nice girls are anathema to today's 'porn fan' - they can't be treated in such a fashion. Their dignity and self-respect precludes it.
And talking of ?sweet girls? - maybe you have been dating the wrong sweet girls? All the sweet girls I have dated have been up for pretty much everything - but then again I never felt the inclination to spit on them or choke them. To me the sight of a sweet girl?s stocking top or the curve of her hips in a tight skirt is worth a million spotty bald beavers and gaping arseholes.
As for Vivid and the rest. Their contemporary birds are just as skanky and objectionable as those of any gonzo outfit - the only difference with Vivid is they spend a few dollars on costumes and makeup and then film it properly.

Jesus Alice at least do your research ...!rant!
RLD have lost at least 15 of their directors/producers (probably more) over the last 2 years, leaving the cleaner and the job experience kid to knock out their latest "masterpieces". They had a business model which seemed good until they started cutting corners and pissed off every performer/director in the business. Platinum X has been sold on and now puts out a compilation every month dressed up to look like new content and throws in an odd Brazilian new release.
Nothing wrong with a bit of gonzo though as long as a bit of time in casting, make-up and set-up are invested in, unfortunately doing all this probably won't sell you any more copies of the film (which is probably why they don't bother) as Gonzo is largely aimed at the brain dead, pot noodle type and not for the countdown & times crossword champ.!whistle!
