Old Terry was a little down beat this evening about the Euro Vision. We all know the UK can?t win it because of the former Russian states voting for their neighbours but is it time the UK stopped attending?
I love the wonderful euro girls (the Ukrainian was very sexy) but is a bit of eye candy worth the cash we spend on the event? Should we not say to the former Russian states put up more cash as they will always win?

Does anyone take this contest seriously within the UK? It's not just the Eastern block that vote for themselves as continental Europe have been just as bad in the past.
According to Europe, the UK are complete shiite, and they'll then celebrate in nightclubs dominated by British music.....lol.

The Scandinavians vote for one another, and Finland votes for Russia too. Cyprus votes for Greece. Spain votes for Portugal and vice versa. Moldova will always vote for bigger neighbour Romania. You don't piss off the people you have to get along with. A lot of the voting is political, but so what. The song I thought was best didn't get into the top three places in the UK voting.
It's a piece of nonsense one night a year. If it brings people from Iceland to Armenia and Russia to Israel together for that time, then it's doing its job.

Why do we bother with Eurovision?.Of course the voting system is all about politics and country relations, and the Uk's role in the recent Iraq war,as well as their love in with America has'nt helped matters either. But anyone who takes this car crash of a competition seriously, really needs to get a life.

I enjoy this 3 hours of mirth and merriment that comes around one night a year.I'll miss Tery when he retires from it.The show is a great spectacle and we all know about the corrupt voting but who cares? The British songs have been shit lately and have not deserved to get anywhere near the winner for years.

I think we should pull out anyway - it doesn't do anything for our music industry and it's all just a farce.

It also shows the idiots that vote on the Eurovision, not forgetting the planks that watch it.
I opted to watch the Ricky Hatton fight, including the fights on the undercard !thumbsup!

It's not just that. In the UK we often forget that the countries on the continent have land borders and ain't islands. Most of these countries have sizable minorities of ex-pats from their neighbours. Many of the former Soviet republics have sizable minorities of Russians, and former Yugoslavia is a similar mix. Thus, much of this isn't even vote-for-your-neighbour, it's vote for home.
