It's not all gloom and doom in the NHS.

I had to go to hospital yesterday for a small operation on my ear. Despite what the gloom and doom merchants pontificate to us, I was extremely satisfied with my entire time at the hospital.
The nursing staff were not foreign and they were all kind, professional and courteous. They were not round the back flogging off essential medical equipment. There was no evidence of MRSA and the hospital was clean and well run.
The only flaw was the slight crumbling of the paintwork on the exterior of the hospital and some wires were sticking out of a wall, although when I was leaving I saw an electrician tidying this up.
Yes, I realise that it is only my impression of one day at this hospital, but it was a very good and encouraging one.
