Kids Set For Matrix Future

I predict a miserable future where kids dont have to go to school.

More muggings on the streets and smart arse punks kicking you to the floor saying:

"I know Kung Fu"

What kind of competition will there be for jobs if everyone is plugged in with the same knowledge and skills.

pie in the sky methinks, we don't understand the brain that well yet, and I really cant see parents being happy for their kids to undergo brain surgery - which is effectively what will be required, within a gereration

Isn't it already happening now, Terry?

When I had homework as a kid I had to trawl the libraries to learn stuff and pre-order books that were already loaned out. Now, most of that info is just a google search away.

Of course, I can't download it straight into my brain the info's there if I want to take it in. Your local library on the nearest council estate wouldn't have had the same books as the library in a public school, of Oxford University and so the bourgeoisie definitely had an advantage in life. I think it unfair that someone of average intelligence had a bigger advantage than a genius just because of money and upbringing.

Then there's the revelation of this knowledge to countries who were at a major disadvantage. With the internet, and possible future, they'll hopefully have the same access as the privileged in the western world.

Yes, it may seem like cheating when you can download something straight to your brain, but you'll still have to remember what you've learnt; you'll still have to compete with someone that may have more motivation, or a harder work ethic than you. I think there'll still be competition, but with a more level playing field. It can only be good for the world as a whole as the more educated we are on something the less ignorant and bigoted we become.

The cream of education is probably limited to less than 0.5% of the worlds population. Do you think we'd still be using oil and have a starving, war-torn Africa if that education was available to 100%?

Viva matrix!
