After The Sex Pistols show in Birmingham last night.......I think I have one, courtesy of Steve Jones's guitar

Pity it wasn't a decent guitar player - it could have been a sort of 'badge of honour' to boast about.

Queens would make you ache elsewhere - so watch out if there's a Queen about :)

Concerts are just too bloody loud. I like to hear it loud enough to 'feel' the bass and drums, but some bands must have deaf sound technicians who boost it up until it seems loud to them.

Seriously or Figuratively speaking?

I used to get that "waiting for the ear to pop for days after seeing live bands at certain inappropriate venues where you were just bombarded with the sound reverberating of the walls

Painful
150 dB = rock music peak

140 dB = firearms, air raid siren, jet engine

130 dB = jackhammer

120 dB = jet plane take-off, amplified rock music at 4-6 ft., car stereo, band practice

Extremely Loud
110 dB = rock music, model airplane

106 dB = timpani and bass drum rolls

100 dB = snowmobile, chain saw, pneumatic drill

90 dB = lawnmower, shop tools, truck traffic, subway

Can recall reading about the one off reformed Madness gig shattered windows around the area.Cant be good unless you had a great time then its OK ;-)

I had that problem when i went to see the Drive by Truckers on their last visit to UK .
Did not get my hearing fully back until halfway through the following day.
Mind you good band though in the Lynyrd Skynyrd mode

Doctor had a look and I have warm olive oil in it to sooth it with what looks like a tampon sticking out my ear, so hopefully I'll be all clear on Monday when I go back for another appointment with the nurse.

Alls well that ends well.

I used to frequent a hotel that would hire a rock/punk/metal band whos music would reverberate of the walls. My hearing would be similar to the warm water pop effect from the beach except it would last for 3/4 days everytime i went
