I am considering buying a system that will allow me to watch Spice Platinum, can anyone advise me of a decent system (Dish Included) that will allow me to do this. I have budgeted for ?300 will this be enough.
Also, how about a people voting for their favourite British Scene,I am sure this has been covered in the past but the other day I watched Wild Wenches again after not having seen it for 18 months, the scene with Goldie Mchawn and Paula Murphy has got to be one of the greatest...ever...

This question re Spice Platinum has been asked many times. Usually it is answered by either myself, Benspal, graham or Vila and some other forumite whos name slips my tired mind (might be watters or someone). Must be my turn to answer. OK here goes. Then I can relax.
You can do it for the price you mentioned but if you want the flexibility to watch other hardcore channels I would add another ?100 then you can pick and choose which channels you want.
Do a search on this forum using terms like "spice platinum" "channel bizarre" or "hotbird".
In short you need 80cm dish (fixed-not motorised as some people still think), commmon interface digital receiver(from ?100 upwards loads to choose from-see What Satellite mag in WHSmiths or any other decent newsagent), correct cam (?100 unless its built into your receiver) and a veiwing card. Official 12 month Spice Platinum cards are available from many UK sat dealers and also from the channel itself. Prices for a 12 month subscription run from between ?75 to ?100. Dealers who have a big turnover get discounts from Spice for bulk purchase and can pass this on. However beware of a Birmingham based company. They are huge and have big double page ads but you will be safer using a smaller company. If you want me to recommend a good sat dealer then e mail me.

Do me a favour please Buttsie. No references to my line of work. Dont forget I know what you do for a living so I might just "out" you if you carry on like that. And stop stirring re the sat thing!
PS I gather your new fetish is John Inman. Been visting his Yahoo Group. Whos next on your list? Kenneth Williams or Frankie Howard? Dont send the pics of them I prefer Charlene and ML.
I`m free!!
Cheers

On a more serious note Buttsie I should point out that if someone says they are guilty then it is my legal duty to inform the Court (Kev had the sense to tell me lies until after he got off). I would be in trouble if someone said to me they were guilty and I said plead not guilty. I have been the victim of crime myself. It cant be avoided in a city like mine (most crime ridden area outside of London... and Liverpool). So I would not protect someone who mugged an old lady or stole a charity box. But people should realise that the police and prosecution lawyers (CPS) will use underhand tactics and tricks so the defence do the same. Its like a game of chess to some of them. But I grew up in an inner city environment and saw people I was at school with end up in trouble (and I got into bother myself - not harmfull crime) so I see both sides of the coin. The majority of my work involves helping people. We do work for free for a lot of people. Helping people with debt problems or family disputes. And we do not get paid by anyone for it. No legal aid or anything. Must make us unique doing stuff for free to help out the needy. Of course all the freebies will have to stop now that we have a right wing government who stopped legal aid which means no access to justice for the poor. Also these shite companies that advertise on TV for accident claims are con merchants who take a huge chunk of the clients compo and also farm the case out to some solicitor 300 miles away from the claimant (we dont take a penny from the clients compo and they get a first class service with no call centre bollocks). We have built up a ?50,000 overdraught due to doing too much free work for people we felt sorry for. No other line of business gives their product away for free. The banks extort money and exploit the poor by offering them loans they cant repay. I was on the sick for 9 months (trying to survive on ?60 per week) and on the dole for 6 months in the early nineties and managed on ?30 per week and I didnt notice anyone giving me any discounts on my bills.
Theres a huge diference betwen rich City lawyers and decent High Street law firms who are struggling like everyone else these days.
End. That is all. Bed now. Only part time at the moment hence the late nights and booze. Sorry for the whinging but I was outed by Carl so now I have to justify my work.

I liked Bernard Breslaw. That big oafish face and voice always amused me. Oh, and Windsor Davies "right then my loverrly boyos!". Reminds me of a distant relative from Cardiff. Charles Hawtree on the other hand never really got any lines but he had comedy potential.
I am frightened to check my emails incase Mr Buttsies favourite John Inman pic is in there!

"However beware of a Birmingham based company. They are huge and have big double page ads but you will be safer using a smaller company." Thus spake Mr Mogoo.
I agree absolutely. I also had dealings with this company. They'll sell you things, take your money and avoid answering queries and giving service.
Actually they are not as huge as the ad size implies; just a shop in a suburban arcade.

Not me! I am one of the lucky brigade who has 6 channels of non-stop 24 hour porn available at the press of a cable button. Plus Adult Channel, Playboy, TVX and a couple of other soft. And all for ?9.99 per month (TVA included).

Are you a barrister, magoo? Are you serious that in the U.K., a lawyer has to squeal on his own client? I am very interested in this, so please reply..tia
