I noticed my inbox seems to be getting the usual spam as of late:

From Mrs Rosemary Smith,

i am Rosemary Smith, 59 years of age, I was married to a foreign Contractors MR Toni Smith who worked with Chevron Texaco in West Africa for twenty years before he died in the year 2005, May be you must have heard about him in the oil firm. We were married for thirty-seven years without a child. He operate an account with a finance house who perished in a plane crash [Swissair Flight 111] and the whole passengers aboard 2005. (Yawn)

Before his death we were both born again Christians without a child.(Sob story. Wah boo-hoo alert!) Since his death I decided not to re-marry. When my late husband was alive he deposited the sum of $6.5 million ( SIX POINT FIVE MILLION DOLLARS) with a security company in West Africa Presently, this money is still with the security company and the management just wrote me as the beneficiary to come forward to receive the money or rather issue a letter of authorization to somebody to receive it on my behalf if I can not come over. (yeah cos you can trust someone you dont know with 5 million cant you?)

Presently, I'm with my laptop in a hospital where I have been undergoing treatment for cancer of the lungs. (Really???? Gosh) I have since lost my ability to talk and my doctors have told me that I have only a few months to live. It is my last wish to see that this money is invested the proceed at the end of every year distributed among charity organization. (ha ha..Yeah right. I'll distribute it alright! On wine women and song and a Ferrari. i always wanted one of those)

I want a person that is God fearing that will use this money to fund churches, orphanages and widows propagating the word of God and to ensure that the house of God is maintained. The Bible made us to understand that blessed is the hand that giveth. (Er one major problem. I'm not a god botherer)

I took this decision because I know that there are a lot of poor people suffering from different kind of disease and nobody to come to their aid. (Yo I can dig it) With God all things are possible. (Er we wont go into that one luv) As soon as I receive your reply I shall give you the contact of the security company . I will also issue you a letter of authority that will prove you as the new beneficiary of this fund. You are to help me invest this funds into real estate and stocks. You will be entitled to 40% of every profit you make in a year. (Yes. I thought personal details would be in there somewhere. Jeez how long winded was that????)

Please assure me that you will act accordingly as I stated herein. (Yes of course. Scouts honour and a finger up me chuff too)

Note. You can contact the security company Correspondence office in West Africa for verification on the consignment as the funds was deposited in a trunk box as a consignment, and the consignment as code is 55506 name of depositor Mr Toni Smith, present beneficiary Mrs Rosemary Smith .

Hoping to hearing from you soon.

Yours in Christ, (Aww bless)
Mrs Rosemary Smith.

I mean what is all this about? Has someone subscribed to some "How to make a million" alamanac somewhere.

its obviously a scam and a very overplayed one. Has anyone fallen for things like this? The usual one is depositing a lot of money into your bank which, if anyone is dumb enough is going to be flagged by inland revenue anyway if its over 5k.

This is the 10th variation I've got on this theme in two weeks.
