streaming stuff to a ps3

can you not stream music/video from windows pc/laptop across your wifi net
work to your ps3
ps3 and vista laptop connected to wireless router wirelessly and xp desktop connected to router by ethernet cable
i can stream content from xp desktop to vista laptop or vice versa no trouble at all
any idea thanx so much

if i connect my desktop to router wirelessly with a usb wifi dongle i can stream wirelessly but not if i connect desktop pc to router with ethernet cable or is it a case of to use ethernet cable you have to be wired from pc to router and wired from router to ps3
because if i go wireless from pc to router and wireless from router to ps3 its fine

when my desktop is hooked up to router with a cable i can still stream stuff to my wireless laptop thru router but not to the wireless ps3 from the wired desktop,to stream to the ps3 i have to be connected to the router wirelessly from desktop or wireleessly from lappy as well

is it a case that if youve hooked your ps3 to connect to internet wirelessly then you have to connect from pc wirelessly to router to get them to talk to each other
i wonder if i was to change ps3 settings to wired then got another ethernet cable so i had one cable from desktop to router port 1 then another cable from port 2 to ps3 if that would work?????????????
basically i can get it all working wirelessly but not wiredly
any thoughts

I'd expect so as long as your computer is comaptible with the PS3
Different makes..different companies...just means you need different connections and thats where the expertise comes in(which I dont have sorry)
Kind of question your best asking on a computer forum that matches your operating system perhaps.Maybe someone else has asked the same question
Sometimes its best to know what you want and hunt around for a decent place that will set it all up for you.Sure you pay for it but then you save yourself all this continually asking questions...just a thought
