I think alex ferguson is a little two faced, fair enough if berbatov wants to play for a bigger club and further is career then am all for that, i would miss him at spurs but if wants to play for a bigger club then so be it, but isn't it strange how ferguson is in the same position with cristiano ronaldo who clearly doesn't want to stay at the man utd and yeah his staying for another year, but its only a matter of time before joins real madrid. Ferguson doesn't seem to mind doing that to other teams, and yet he doesn't like it being done to him. What i would like to know is that when players like berbatov and carrick were available to buy the first time around how come alex ferguson never thought about buying then? It seems to me that he just waits until a smaller club buys them does all the hard work and then takes them off the club. This won't be the last time that he does something like this, i have no sour grapes against berbatov i wish all the luck in the world at man utd

Ferguson is the sort of character who sees only the supposed crimes and slights against him and his club, and doesn't recognise the damage he might be doing elsewhere. This hypocrisy is nothing new.

Fergie's no different to Rafa, Wenger or Mourinho in that he see's all the faults of others, but blind to his own. It's certainly a trait of all top managers.

However, the Berbatov & Ronaldo situations are slightly different in one main respect: Calderon constantly used Marca to publicly court Christiano Ronaldo, while Fergie has never once used the press to tempt Berbatov.

Can anyone mention a source where Fergie has mentioned Berbatov at all?

When you manage a big club you have to have the best so you allow the smaller clubs to do all the donkey work and when their ripe for the picking you swoop ala saha from fulham mid-season.Only a fool wouldnt

The smaller clubs know and in many cases actually bank on income from transfers to survive. The academies are nothing more than where they fatten up the young claves before selling them at auction

Ferguson did of course use the press extensively when trying to prise Hargreaves from Bayern Munich, prompting a complaint by Bayern Munich to FIFA.

Very similar in fact to Real Madrid's pursuit of Ronaldo and Man Utd's complaint about that.

People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

I'm a man utd fan, but have to agree with the Hargreaves comments, the situation was exactly the same, Owen had recently signed a new contract at Bayern and Fergie wasn't shy about talking about him in public. I said the same thing to my mates a few weeks ago as well.

Fergie can be right some times, but wrong some times too, he's only human.
