"Passive-aggressive" used in Eastenders shock

I was amazed that someone used the expression "passive-aggressive" recently in Eastenders (which i think is complete shit except for the reference to passive-aggressive).
I thought only smart brainy people like me who understand psychology had heard of passive-aggressive. But no - it seems to have now entered general currency.

Those passive-aggressives need a good slap, because in reality they're just totally awkward and frustrating individuals.
