Blair always comes over as an out-of-touch clown, but Tarique Ghaffur comes over as worse than useless.

I don't like this guy at all. We will never ever hear the end of this. The Met and the government will continue to kiss his arse all the time for the rest of his career. He moans and moans and calls anyone a racist at the drop of a hat. This guy is a Ugandian Asian who we kindly allowed to come and live in our country and all he's done since is call us all a bunch of c*nts in return! He has been knighted (made a CBE) when it is questionable what he has done to deserve such an honour - other than to hate everything about the Met - and he has been promoted very very rapidly.

This is ALL the Labour government's a fault. Jack Straw commissioned the MacPherson Report into the murder of Stephen Lawrence 11 years ago and this was lifke dropping a nuclear bomb on the Metropolitan Police. The term "institutionally racist" has been banded about ever since, the Black Police Association was set up as a result, and people like Ghaffur join it, even though he is about as black as Hugh Grant - the Stepen Lawrence business messed the Police up so badly that the Met more or less started again. After 170 years the name Metropolitan Police Force was scrapped and it was renamed the Metropolitan Police Service.

Ever since then the Police has had to watch themselves around ethnic minorities. All this is mana from heaven to the TV media who will always pick up Ghaffur's case and effectively do his bidding for him. He will keep moaning and moaning for ever more and the Met will keep kissing his arse, showering him with money, and honours, in order to try and appease him. This is all the Labour Party's fault.

Grow up Max. Next thing you'll be saying is peeps like Chuck D is 'uppity'. It's the fuzz for f*ck's sake. All the geezer wants is to be treated equally. He's not asking for anything more than that.

How do you know he ISN'T being treated equally? He's been promoted way way above a hell of a lot of other officers, be them black white whatever. If he was being discriminated against he would hardly have risen to no.3 in the Met would he?

The trouble is that i suspect he has benefited from positive discrimination after the Macpherson Report in the early 90's and has been promoted beyond his ability,and now he can't accept that he's been found out and will not go any higher.
If he was any sort of conscientious policeman he would not have made the grievances public at a carefully run news conference but kept them "in house" and got on with his job.There is no way now he can continue to work day to day with the men he has made complaints against!
