Gone are the days when you could search for something and find it. Now 90% of the results are price comparison sites, people trying to sell stuff, sites full of virus downloads and other assorted junk.

Most of us us (me included) are quite lazy when it comes to searching in Google, we stick in a word or two and the just search.
But Google has LOADS of options for searching, many of which I dont even know.
But did you know you can ask Google NOT to include certain sites.
So if I search on say "Nikon" I get loads of sites, including price comparison sites.
But if I search on Nikon -comparison -price
It removes all the sites mentioning "comparison" and "price".
Not perfect, but gives you an idea what options you have with Google
Here are some search tips (just click on "Search tips" at the bottom of the Google page)

Remember that a Search Engine is merely a tool. You have to learn how to use it properly to get the best out of it.
You can also try this:
http://www.startupbin.com/google-google/
Google minus Google - it removes all hits related to Google itself including YouTube and Blogger
