Anyone recall this magazine?

That's going back a bit... I don't remember seeing that around after the early eighties!

I remember the title buts thats about all !wink!

It even went international - there was a German edition (which for a while was called Cinesex), and in Italy they called it New Cinema. Not so sure about France though, possibly Euro Cinema was associated with it, but the content was more different.

Remember seeing a copy whilst still at school, 1978/9.

Great magazine for a flavour of the times. A raunchier version of Continental Film Review. Not much of what was written in it should be taken as fact often had photos from films that never really existed etc. I remember one issue had an article about the movie "Woodstock" just because there were a couple of stills of skinny dipping available.

Not so sure about that. Both CFR and Cinema X certainly had photos of foreign films where a British release was unsecured; the English titles they gave were often something made up by the mag - but these films existed, in some form or another.

While CFR excelled in the art to colour-tint poor quality black&white images, in an effort to make them look like poor quality colour-tinted black & white images, Cinema X tried from the start to include proper colour pics which was probably rather dear to produce in those days.

But there was a distinct lack of information in Cinema X when you looked beyond the glossy pics - the film descriptions were seemingly lifted from promotional material of the distributors, and that was basically it. On some rare occasions there was a shallow interview with some actor or moviemaker. Something tantalisingly approaching critical movie reviews (measuring the sexual content) came in very late volumes of the mag.
