Why is it that in modern American porn - ie 1990's onwards - nearly all American porn stars (and many British) seem to have tattoos?
This seems to be almost without exception. Is it some sort of badge of being a porn star?
Some of them are just about acceptable, but others are dreadful.

Also is it me, but are many of them uglier than they were in the 70's and 80's?
I remember being bowled over by stunners when I was younger, but now I actually find some of them almost repulsive. This contrasts with some of the EE girls who by and large are far more attractive than their American counterparts, and often without the tattoos. See for example Sapphic Erotica.

I think you will find that th ekind of person that gets into porn is usually rebellious and rambunctious in behaviour, therefore the type that has the courage to whip their bits out for all and sundry to see and actually enjoys the fact people are watchingthem shagging.

In fact, a lot of the tattoed types are very liberated and the thought of gettingpaid to fuck for a living is highly appealing.

These types usually do have tats and that is their badge of honour.

They say tattoss are a mark of a dysfuntional youth...I would say the more garish ones are. The more tasteful ones were probably made in adulthood and a conscious decision to add something tot their personality rather than make a statement.

With a lot it's the sheep mentality - everyone around me has one, so I'll have one to fit in. In the early days a tattoo was something you would remember a porn star by, now it's the fact she hasn't got one. Some small tattoos look ok in the beginning, but in the end they're all ugly - there's nothing worse than a 40 year old fat woman with tattoos all over her arms ---- then she bends down to expose a copious amount of butt crack as her tracksuit bottoms sag, and in the process reveals that disgusting wing-like tattoo across her lower back, the one they all have!

Some tattoos just date so badly, like the Celtic symbols preferred by chavs from the 80's/90's. Those little bears, hearts, flowers look just as naff - and who wants to see a girl with a full size tiger on her back? - it just looks ridiculous.

i appreciate what ur saying and i have to be careful not to get any more tags or i will have to get a job in the circus as the painted lady but i dont think girls get tattoos to please or displease you. very few girls consider porn fans and viewers when making the decision to get tattoos.

Your right about the sheep mentality, it was the same with boobs, one star had a boob job, then everyone else had to follow.

Im not a lover of tattoo's, but that's my personal choice. Some people out there must like them.

i got my first tattoo late in life and when i was not even in the business,since then ive added but only because they are my own design and they are a statement to who i am ,even if other half hates them its my body.

What is this decline in porn people are talking about? Porn itself is exploding at the seams for how much is out there.

Quality wise its subjective but it stands to reason the more produced the more stuff you will not like.

On the whole porn is definitelty on the rise for how easy it is to get these days..espepcially for free.

Tattos dont bother me. If a girl has a pretty face, nice body and pretty pussy and take sit up the bum I'm not too fussed about a few tattoos.

If they are truly awful and a bad boob job it may put me off my stroke a bit but generally my interest in porn is about girls and pussy.
