Have you never seen the movie with Gregory Peck?

Anyway, what I don't quite understand: why can't the buyer just take that note to a bank (perhaps the one who issued it) and tell them - "please put this into my account"?

Yes i thought it was made up for the film it was shown on a sunday afternoon around 1977

Apparently the Bank of England have some huge denomination notes for internal use only.

Wonder if there are 100/1000 pound notes in the 80s [1987]i got a 50 once.

These Million Pounds notes were issued after WW2 had ended as part of the US instigated 'Marshall Plan'.
