And he once, as an act of performance art, made TV series RE:Brand where he took an OAP on a dirty weekend and wanked off a gay man in a pub toilet.
It's out on DVD in December. Bet you can't wait, eh?

It's so easy these days to give people labels like 'bipolar' as if it's an excuse for their behaviour.... being bipolar is one thing, acting like a prat is something else.

Hey you beat me to it. Brand explains that he was diagnosed bipolar in his book My Boooky Wook a few years ago when he was recovering from drug addiction. His risk taking and living close to the edge is typical bipolar behaviour.

No but there is such a thing as monopolar disorder which just means depressive without any manic phases.

Bipolar sufferers tend to be extreme and "hit and miss". Some of them just churn out meaningless garbage. Whether you think Russell Brand just churns out meaningless garbage is a matter of opinion.
Thee are several varieties of bipolar and it affects differnt people in different ways. For example both Winston Churchill and Marilyn Monroe were bipolar. Churchill obviously used his extreme risk taking behaviour in a constructive way in running the UK war effort. Someone without bipolar probably wouldnt have had Churchill's audacity to take risks which was needed in those circumstances. Churchill also had depressive phases which he called "black dog" and he did a huge amount of drinking to try to improve his mood.

Just to add that some of Churchill's audacious orders in WW2 went very badly wrong such as a UK military offensive in Norway. So Churchill was rather "hit and miss" as well.
