I am a huge 'classic/oldschool' metal fan- so was happy to find Graham Bonnet still touring -and still playing one of my favourites Since You've Been Gone- the Rainbow track where he was lead vox.
But oh dear, oh dear me. 10/10 for effort- and I am sorry but I won't grade the rest.

I really dont understand why people post shite quality audio on youtube
Love the song..loathe the quality
Think it might have been Ronnie Dio who did the best version of this song with Rainbow

I thnk you are wrong, I'm sure Mr Dio had left Rainbow when they recorded this track. It was on the Down to Earth that Bonnet recorded.

I also believe it was Bonnet on lead vocals on this track

Hit-wise Bonnet sang Since You've Been Gone & All Night Long, Blackmore sacked him for having short hair & not been 'metal' enough, his replacement Joe Lynn-Turner sang I Surrender & Can't Happen Here
Rainbow made the revolving door that was Ritchie Blackmore's previous band Deep Purple look positively stable!

Fucking awful performance - but probably good fun if you were there on the night, after a few beers.
Ronnie Dio definitely NEVER sang this with Rainbow - it was after his time with the band. Russ Ballad penned the song, IIRC.
Bonnet was a good singer in his day, but had a tendency to be a bit "shouty" at times. These days it seems like he's just tuneless (if this performance is typical).

After Rainbow he was in MSG for a while......Got sacked for comming on stage pissed and waving his cock about !!
They then had a tour planned so they had to go back to the old singer who bonnet replaced to do the tour with !!
I have the live album and all the MSG albums.

Sorry Nob3y, but that's bollocks.
I was actually at that gig (Sheffield Poly, 1982). Bonnet was pissed, yes. But he didn't get his tackle out.
A few songs into the set, he started to introduce the hidden rhythm guitarist and keyboardist behind the amps (they were supposed to stay hidden), before staggering off stage drunk and unable to continue.
I think I'm right in saying that it was in fact Bonnet's only live gig with MSG. It was supposed to be a warm-up gig for one of the big festivals shortly afterwards (either Donnington or Reading, can't recall which) prior to a full-scale tour - so they had to get Gary Barden back in at short notice.

might not have been at that time you was there but it was said thats what happened at a venue.
Dio was better anyways, bonnet was "OK" but nowhere near as good as Dio.
my fav rainbow track is "light in the black"
