The last member of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. A real drummer- up there with the gods and criminally overlooked by pundits and surveyors in recent years...did relatively nothing since 1970- but how the hell do you follow Hendrix?

Very very sadly missed.

So all three of the original Experience dead.

I am 59 now and "grew up" during the 1960s and I find it rather sad that all the groups I listened to are losing their member one by one.

Two of the Beatles gone, two of the Who gone, Carl and Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys gone, rather surprising only one of the Rolling Stones gone.

Also Jim Morrison (Doors), Arthur Lee (Love), Tim Buckley, Nick Drake, Dusty Springfield, so many others

Found this comprehensive list of dead rock stars

I'm a similar vintage to you Guilbert, and yes it is sad to see all these fine acts disappearing. It broke my heart the other month when a second one of the original Pink Floyd went off to that great gig in the sky.

There is no evidence that Mitch Mitchell or Jimi Hendrox were bipolar inspite of Hendrix recording track called "manic depression". Mitch Mitchell plays on that track.

Brian Jones, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain were bipolar for starters.

RIP Mitch - he brought a injection of jazz to rock drumming & compared to Ginger Baker remained criminally under-rated

Here's a classic piece of music TV- The Jimi Hendrix Experience the night after the Cream announced that they were splitting up...Jimi decides to leave the studio director of 'A Happening For Lulu' in as much of a nervous state as the soundman....

'They're putting us off the air'- and all gone now [well, apart from Lulu].

But we'll never forget you lads...

It was a terrible shame that him and Noel Redding did so badly financially out of being in Hendrix's band.
