Anti Israel Protesters, London

The usual riff-raff rent-a-mob, throwing bottles and sticks at the police. Let's hope the police go in with a good baton charge and hospitalise a few.

Nah, the police would only get involved if it was the staff of the local Woolies having a protest outside.

The rest of the world can fight their battles on the the streets of Londonistan without a murmur from the powers that be. ("Its their culture, don't you know?")

Yes the protesters are smashing shop windows and pulling down railings.

There is a news channel on sky that show live pictures.
And has been showing live shots looking into Gaza as well. Whilst the other big news stations are not showing any live shots at all.

However when you listen to the commentary you start to think.... that's strange!!!! ie the other day when some rockets where lobbed from Lebanon into Israel... and they said Hezzballah were supporting their brothers!!!!

Then you realise Press TV Sky CH 515 is Iranian News TV.

Wonder if you can watch BBC News24 whilst on holiday in Iran?

Johnny Hungwell probably thinks the miners asked for it too.

Probably not but that's what makes our society superior in many ways from theirs.

He'd think Anne Frank asked for it, mate.

And on the subject of Anne Frank - don't think those protestors yesterday would have much sympathy for her, although I suppose they may invent their own equivalent, seeing there's bound to be some young Arab girl holed up in a Gaza apartment right now.

Where my sympathies lie make no difference to any real world situation, past or present. Things are as they are, all I can do is observe - seeing I have no desire to participate in anything.

Press TV is broadcast Europe-wide and throughout the Middle East on various satellites . But it's surprising that the majority of telephone calls they broadcast on air, in support of Palestinians, seem to come from the UK - maybe that's down to the fact it's English language broadcasting - or maybe we just have many more extremists living here?

The number of calls from the UK is also evident on other Arabic channels not hosted by Sky, but widely available Europe-wide, where no English is spoken. It says something when there are so few calls from France, Germany, Holland Italy, Spain - when these countries have substantial Arabic populations, compared to the UK. Either these channels hold the British opinion in high esteem or they get a disproportionate number of calls from the UK?

I'm sure the security services must notice things like this.
