Marvellous actor.
He was offered, but turned down, many big roles: Simon Templar, James Bond, Gandalf and Dumbledore among them.

The Prisoner changed my life if not yours- the finest TV series Britain ever produced- full of genesis and revelation.
There are too many people on these Forums happy to be Number Sixes and live in prisons of their own creation!
I've always tried to be a Number One [ no puns, ta].
