I was shocked at how lenient these sentences are - they need 15 years minimum. I was just watching a documentary about a prison is the US, one inmate was serving 10 years for wounding someone with a knife - and there were plenty others serving a year just for a street fight. The prison looked pretty tough, run like an army boot camp - it would scare British low-life scum out of their wits if they faced this type of regime.

Maybe they were laughing because they knew how lenient the sentences would be.

It seems to be quite common that these louts laugh off their convictions. It's simply bravado. These people have spent their whole lives doing exactly what they want, when they want, without any controls or sanctions.

So imagine their horror, when they go to prison and they are told when to get up, when to go to bed, when to eat, when to breathe and so on. It will be a horrific shock for them and they must endure this for years, coupled with the threat of violence and sexual harassment forever hanging over their heads.

It might not be as much fun as it seems.

On the other hand, there was that famous toff who went to prison for fraud, who when asked how was it, answered that having been through the public school system, it wasn't that bad. He was already used to being flogged, shouted at, regimented and generally abused, so prison was a doddle!

Not so for the average Chav scum though!

Then youtube should be allowed to show the video so that these guys will never brag about it among their peers.

How do people who do these crimes think they will get away with it is beyond me and even if they got away with it surely they must expect some retribution from a member of the family. I know some of these west indian famillies and they will not sit back until violence begets violence.

A prison sentence just doesnt cut it in my book. Im sure if those guys dont get it then a member of their family will. Thats just how it is done sad to say.

Looks like the DPP is going to appeal the sentences on the grounds they are unjustly light.

Thing is: we have not got enough prison places for that lot.

An idea would be perhaps to outsource this to Russia, and send them to a Gulag in Siberia.
