"Nikkita Marie Walters, 13, and Katie-Jo Davies, 14, were being taken on a half-hour "flight experience" with instructors Hylton Price, 63, and 24-year-old Andrew Marsh when the two aircraft they were in crashed above sand dunes."
Is 63 not a bit too old to be flying a plane? - and 24 seems a bit too young. One would maybe be a bit doddery and slow to react - and the other prone to showing off like a boy flyer. It's probably down to the fact all the good pilots are in the forces, the rest are in the terretorials.

Territorials?? Both the adults killed were "proper" pilots! Price had served on Phantoms and Tornado in GW1; Marsh was a full time RAF pilot who was waiting for a fast jet slot to become available (happens a lot). Not many of the AEF instructors aren't forces trained.
Condolances to all their families

Yes indeeed - this story is so sad. I read this morning as well that one of the girls that died was also the 3rd sibling in her family to die. So sad. Gotta think about the families at this time. Also you all heard bout the plane gone down in the States today - no suvivors there either. Fear of flying seems more rational these days!
