You haven't seen this yet- well, see it first here.

Joaquin Phoenix- Commodus in 'Gladiator' has retired from acting at 34 to become a rapper. Honest.

He appeared on Letterman last night....now is this:

1. A hell of a hoax

2. Mr.Phoenix needing help badly.

or

3. Mr.Letterman being a cunt.

You decide.

This can't be for real? I love him as an actor - there is something strangely sexy about him too, but rapping - I cant take that seriously! x

He said as much in a recent interview with one of the Sunday papers...give him a couple of years dying on his arse as a rapper and he'll soon be back at Hollywood's door.

I'm sorry the video has been removed.

The point is that he looked like he was having a breakdown live on 'CBS Broadcasting'.

Well to say that Joaquin has a serious problem is a bit of an understatement Colonel.

here are some of his previous awkward moments:

here is his letterman appearance:

here is the rapper in action:

here is his appearance on Letterman in 2006 (where he doesn't exactly look too healthy)

Can't watch Letterman, how he got to be a top talkshow host is beyond me. I can just about stomach Jay Lenno and Conan O'Brian.

Janathan Woss based his whole act on Letterman when he started his career back in the '80s.
