The original word that now means 'grapefruit' was gropecunt.

Used to work with Trevor Hardon and Wayne Wankling. Fortunately not at the same time.

I remember a lady called Wankling on University Challenge once years ago.

Every time she presed the buzzer for a starter question the guy would shout out "Wankling, Cambridge" (or whatever universiy it was).

In the 1960s, Everton had a footballer called Mike Trebilcock, which gave us some considerable amusement.
