UK Strip Venues

Having thrown myself unashamedly into the world of 'gentlemen's establishments' in Australia, I'm wondering what the situation is in the UK...

Here there are a range, from the formal corporate style, to the less formal but quite stylish, to the pretty skanky. I recently went to one where I was discreetly offered 'extras' which kind of took me by surprise.

Is it common for British adult stars to perform in such venues as it is for US stars to do so in the States? What are such venues like in the UK?

A good overview of the British strip scene can be found at:

and there are two yahoo groups (the second recently formed) that deal with stripping:

With regard to "featured" performers Sammi Jessop sometimes works at Metropolis in London, and of course the Circus Tavern in Purfleet, home of the Sunday Sport roadshows has a host of Page 3 girls and adult stars.

Whilst on the subject, it would be highly remiss of me NOT to mention my own monthly shows which have a mix of Brit porn stars, Page 3 girls and club dancers.

As for "extras", it's well known that some places, such as Spearmint Rhino in Totteneham Court Road have had warnings from both the local council and the police regarding the conduct of some of the dancers, and I understand that the police will be objecting to the renewal of the licence of SR/TCR when it comes up for renewal in, I think, September.

Anywhere were you get 30 to 100 dancers there are bound to be one or two (and sometimes more) who will go beyond what is allowed for some extra payment. Let's face it, at SR/TCR on a Thursday or Friday night there will be over 200 girls all paying possibly ?100 each as a house fee... that means ten dances before the girls start making money for themselves. Even with 300-400 customers it still takes some hustling to make ?400+, for some an extra ?50 for a quick wank or however much for a BJ helps to pay the taxi home! Other clubs are "stricter" regarding what goes on on the premises, but "take-aways" are still available with the right girl.

just to forewarn anyone who hasn't read the faq (tut! tut!), section 2.3.3 prohibits the mentioning of any model in relation to escort work - even if you've actually done the deed with one, on that basis.

Regarding "extra services", I would never dream of mentioning anyone by name on either this or any other forum, or even in a private e-mail in response to a post.

When asked by my own customers at my monthly shows who does what and for how much, I give them the honest answer that I don't know (and while I have an idea who does and who doesn't, I've sometimes been surprised myself at who I've seen go in "the tent"!!), don't care and that it's none of my business anyway... ask the girls and they'll either tell you that they don't do that sort of thing or they'll name a price. Of course I wouldn't suggest you do that in just any club to any dancer, or you may end up with a drink being poured over your head!

I wonder if it's within th scope of the forum rules for you to reveal venues that possess such 'tents' (I've never seen one!)

My "tent" is in the PD area of a private show I run once a month. I know of other private shows that have similar arrangements. Because they are not "licenced", and therefore liable to be raided by P.C. Plod, it would be unhelpful to those who organise such shows to have the venues publicly broadcast.
