I am in the UK and I ordered 2 DVDs from "The Happy Shopper" website (based
in Holland), but they weren't just seized by customs and excise . yesterday
morning they came round and searched my house for other porn. Is this kind
of thing often done for ordering just 2 DVDs? They were definitely not
child porn, one was bestiality and the other was watersports and they were
actually perfectly legal in Holland. Has anyone else experienced this"

Hey, I don't think that's particularly sinister at all and I'm Mr Paraniod. Beasiality and watersports may be legal in Holland, but they are not legal here ( such a film would never get a certificate) And it maybe reasonable to asume that anyone who is interested in this kind of extreme stuff may be into even more extreme and unpleasant stuff. So, the powers that be will have thought "Hmmm, maybe we should take a closer look at this geezer, see what else he's into?" I'm not saying the raid was right or wrong. I'm just pointing out the fairly reasonable thought process and conclusions that led to it.

I agree - I did rather wonder whether it was the subject matter of the particular items which brought this event about - or merely because of their, shall we say, adult content. If it's the former, then, perhaps fair enough - but if it's the latter then I guess it's right to be Mr Paranoid.

You've answered your own question with one word 'beastiality'. Any video portraying an act that is illegal in itself (Beastitality - Sexual Offences Act 1957 S8)will never be certified here and also lays you open to confiscation etc etc. I remember reading a C&E circular on the subject and beastiality was there on the list along with scat, rape, underage etc etc.

...so if RC really can't live without beastiality, then he should find a supplier who posts from within the UK. Er....I can't, unfortunately, suggest one at the moment!

Fortunately, having no interest in bestiality, I live without it very well. Whether I would wish to live without access to the forms of entertainment, that, presumably most other posters to this board, appreciate may be another matter - as may the question of whether I would wish my house to be searched whatever my tastes may be!!!

It is emphatically NOT reasonable to draw the conclusion that a scatophile would be interested in paedophilia, any more than it would be logical to suggest that anglers eat proportionately more fish than the rest of the population.

I suspect Rock that you are fairly safe - given the amount of porn winging its way into the UK the C&E don't have time to raid all the porn customers (if they did when would they find time to er 'analyse' the confiscated tapes).

The key word in the above - as stated by others - is 'bestiality'. This is not considered as a hint of possible paedophilia it is regarded as worth the bother of a raid in itself. Illegal to make, illegal to import, illegal to own...

Bestiality should not be mentioned in the same sentence as watersports. Fucking an animal is a criminal offence and morally wrong due to the lack of consent. Watersports on the other hand is harmless.

Having said that HM Thieves and Excise have more powers than PC Plod as they dont need a warrant to trash your house like the Dibble do. Your raid might possibly be due to C&E being aware of more sinister material being suppled by the same vendor. They took a peek at my last overseas order but they got bored after half an hour and sent it on to me. Wish the buggers would rewind the tapes after watching them.
