Film4 scheduling is so annoying !!

I noticed that 'LA Confidential' was on at 1.00am this morning, and tonight we have 'Angelas Ashes' on at about the same time. Two of the best films of the last 10-plus years which should have a 9.00 or 10.00pm slot (or thereabouts) but instead start way after midnight so no one will watch them - unless you want to stay up till 3.00 or 4.00 in the morning!
Does anyone have any theories as to why big films are screened when no one will watch them, and smaller films are put on at peak viewing times? While you're about it, maybe you could think of a theory as to why the Hollyoaks omnibus is screened at 2.30 in the morning (runs until 5.00am) on E4. That is also shown in the day, but the re-run of the omnibus is on at that time. It's a strange world...
