I noticed that 'LA Confidential' was on at 1.00am this morning, and tonight we have 'Angelas Ashes' on at about the same time. Two of the best films of the last 10-plus years which should have a 9.00 or 10.00pm slot (or thereabouts) but instead start way after midnight so no one will watch them - unless you want to stay up till 3.00 or 4.00 in the morning!

Does anyone have any theories as to why big films are screened when no one will watch them, and smaller films are put on at peak viewing times? While you're about it, maybe you could think of a theory as to why the Hollyoaks omnibus is screened at 2.30 in the morning (runs until 5.00am) on E4. That is also shown in the day, but the re-run of the omnibus is on at that time. It's a strange world...

Film4 is a free service so this sort of moaning sounds a little churlish.

And besides, if you think the two films mentioned are so good why not buy the DVDs. I doubt either would cost more than a fiver if you're in the right place. You can watch them without Film4's irritatingly long ad breaks too, which generally sap any film of its momentum.

Why don't you invest in a PVR that way you can watch them when you feel like it ... also you will probably find that Film4 stagger their output so those particular films will have been on at say 9 or 10 previously but this is their late night/early morning slot - you can always guarantee with Film4 you won't have to wait too long to catch them again though.!wink!
