My Sundays idea
This is my little thought for today, as I sit looking out at the rain, planning when the best time is to take the dog for a walk without getting too wet.
Well this is it......
It seems the we are lucky to be in the UK as we have such a great government that makes it a 'pain in the ass' to get adult films made and distributed in the UK, in fact any type of film. In other words, ifyou medium of art is film, then you are stuffed. If your art is to put half a dead cow in a glass box, this is fine, but film a girl nude then your stuffed. Art is a strange thing.
Anyway, my idea is that rather than spending ?3000 or so to put a film through the film sensor board, that it would be far better to pay say ?50 a year for a licence. To have this licence you woud have to be police checked and agree to stay within the guidelines of film. If you break these, then you would have your licence removed.
This I feel would be a lot better idea, as you would self regulate.
It would be an offence then to make films for distribution without a licence.
I would not think that all crime would prevent you from getting a licence, only say if you have been committed of a sexual crime.
I would feel that this would be far better for all. After all, I would think most people are more than capable of self censorship. As the law stands I see no reason why anyone would see the need to push the boundaries, as most 'normal' fetishes seem now to be legal.
But to be honest, I do think that it will not be long before someone overturns the current ways of doing things, as I am sure under EU law that by being the only EU country to have film censorship in this way and to be only allowed to sell via certain shops that this surly must be breaking some sort of trading act.
Even putting porn aside, how are we ever going to have a film indersty if students cannot afford to get there films out to people.
Its stopped raining now, off with the dog for a walk.
