I couldn't believe this when I heard it. A posse of old men in tight jeans, white trainers, and pony tails, are to take to the stage at Glasto this summer. Why on earth have they been booked? The fans, most of whom are teens and 20-something's, wouldn't have heard of them let-alone have any interest in seeing them!

They'll fit in perfectly. A year ago Eavis brought some edge back to the proceedings what with Jay Z headlining, but as many predicted it's the oldies turn now - Neil Young, Spingsteen, Blur.

All three should comfortably please the hordes, but the full line-up seems rather lifeless, and there's a fair few once-promising newer bands appearing on the back of flopping albums and dwindling interest (Maximo, Franz, Bloc).

However, a prediction: Kasabian, enticingly placed just before Brucie, will play a blinder.

Max

I went to see the Quo a couple of years ago.

They were absolutely brilliant and far from kids knowing nothing about them the place was half full of them with the other half being full of us 'old wrinklies'.

Come to think of it Neil Diamond and Tony Bennett have played Glastonbury during recent times. It was quite surreal watching a clip of Tony Bennett performing there on TV, he is from the Sinatra era and there he was, in his suit, crooning away on a stage at Glasto, with people younger than his grandchildren cheering! He was received quite well, surprisingly.

Apparently Rolf Harris went down an absolute storm when he appeared.
