While I am no great fan of the royal family, you should note:

"He travelled more than 50,000 miles to attend 658 official engagements during his 60th birthday year"

Now 658 official engagements is about 2 a day for the year.

I am not sure about you, but I would not want to spend my whole year going to baked bean factories or opening libraries in Hartlepool.

If he wakes up one day and feels a bit pissed off, or has a hangover, he cant just throw a sickie like the rest of us.

He has to get up and go and visit a paint factory in Leeds or a Picked Onion factory in Cornwall where everyone is waiting for him and he has to look happy and pleased to see them.

I know he is "well paid" and has a priviliged life style, but he has to pay for that by spending his life meeting boring people at boring official functions.

Not my idea of a great job I have to say and I know I would soon get fed up with it, and he has been doing it for 60 years.

That's his job - sponger. Just like the rest of his ugly family.

Hey, Charlie is an ok guy in my book. Hell, we even share the same birthday.

I think the Royal family is one of those things that makes this country great by representing this nation around the world.

Heaven help us if it was just down to our politicians.
